The Virginia Key Alliance is a coalition of concerned citizens, dedicated to preserving Virginia Key and its unique environment for active outdoor recreation, its safe venue for non-motorized water sports and its lush wildlife and natural setting. The Alliance seeks and supports community participation in ongoing planning for any development and improvements to Virginia Key, as such changes will impact generations to come. 

WHAT ARE OUR GOALS?
  • To protect and improve the native environment on Virginia Key - on land, in the water, and in the air.
  • To partner with the City of Miami for project development that is sensitive to the uniqueness of Virginia Key.
  • To partner with clubs, organizations and groups who have shared goals for Virginia Key. 
  • To increase public awareness of Virginia Key as a unique natural resource for Miamians. 
  • To support and/or improve the Virginia Key Master Plan.

  • Fitness enthusiasts and non-motorized water sport athletes such as:  dragon boaters, kayakers, paddle boarders, swimmers, rowers, outriggers, cyclists, triathletes.
  • The scientific community.
  • The environmental community.
  • The preservation and historical societies.
  • Interested businesses and organizations.
